Help me pick a bench.....

The Ironmaster felt more solid but the height of it put me off as I didn't feel as well grounded as I did with the powertec one.

The Ironmaster one was easier to adjust but the seat always felt a little too low and it was always out at 90 degrees to the back rest which took some getting used to.

If I had to pick between the powertec and Ironmaster benches, it would be the powertec but only by a fraction.

What is the preferred height that everyone likes...or what is the standard for most benches?

The ironmaster is 18 or 19" high.

Standard IPF is up to 17" high (AFAIK)

The MM Commercial flat bench is 16" high (it feels awesome)

I always felt unstable with the ironmaster.

Yeah I felt the same on the IM. Great bench just too high sadly. The Precor is 17"

Im looking at getting the Precor one too, any chance you could measure the back pad? specifically the width?

Yeah man no worries will do it tomorrow bud.
