I have a wear mark in the floor of my gym from my balls hitting the floor. You don't ?
 
Dips look fine to me for the added weight. The worst thing you can do is go too low with dips. Can easily pop something in your shoulders or sternum. I'd rather do 1-2" less ROM with added weight than get to that tipping point and getting injured.
