Best Method of Cardio

What do you guys find is the best method of cardio? I do a lot of running and while it keeps me fit for sports (basketball, football etc) it limits the amount of muscle I can put on.

I still need to keep a level of cardio fitness but would I be better off investing in a rowing machine or something like that as it gives a good upper body workout at the same time? Can someone suggest any other alternatives?

Cheers (first post take it easy on me!!)

Skipping rope > running. Maybe get one of those. I mean, unless you want to be a runner specifically.

Fucked if I know though, I don't play a sport.

I am loving my weighted vest, just walking in the thing for 20 minutes gasses me out.

I used to be an endurance junkie but its short and sharp for me now. Sprint work (bike or running) and double unders on the skipping rope are my preference.

Best cardio is the stuff that you actually want to/enjoy doing.
Meaning don't go blowing 1k on a rowing machine and using it for a month then deciding it is shit, then flogging it off on gumtree for 500 bucks. I use basketball as my main source as well, not sure what you mean with your comment about it limiting the amount of muscle you can put on. Eat more

I would be saying almost anything done HIIT style, short sharp and gets the job done.

+1

When i use to row boats we did a lot of HIIT in the form of a lot of cross training: shuttle runs, skipping ropes, push ups, sit ups etc.

Vary it heaps, keep it intensive... worked for me

I have recently started doing spin cycle/rpm classes what ever you want to call it.
45 minute sessions. I enjoy them some might find them boring. It is a pretty large class maybe 60 where I go. But it does depend on the instructor taking the class, the good ones fill all the bikes and work you hard.
