not entirely true, there were quite a few Muslims where I worked.
definitely no restrictions on them renting houses, and prayer space was made available at work.
I know of a few muslims who gained their phD in engineering in Japan, and they wrote it in Japanese.
most Japanese vaguely have two religions, but many don't appreciate christianity or islam.... and with good reason..

I am not an expert on Japan by a long shot, but a lot of this sounds like BS.
They talk about hygiene, yet the photo shows japs with their hand in the piss trough, with no gloves and bare foot where people dribble and piss on the floor
Plus eating shit does not spell hygiene to me

umm.. developing diffusion barriers for jet turbine blade coatings.. (between the single crystal substrate and the nickel platinum aluminide bond coats, which go below the ceramic thermal barrier coating) (this kind of stuff)
