Regarding sponsors, is it relatively new that buisnesses and companies not neccesarily related to powerlifting are choosing to sponsor events? I believe I read somewhere a Nissan dealership was a big sponsor for Pro-Raw V, and there is a few non PL related buisnesses even on this event.

When you consider what sponsorship is then the natural progression as the quality of powerlifting events improve, as to will the attraction to potential businesses. We are trying to bring our sport to the forefront of the general person who might have otherwise considered it to be a very underground sport.

Yes its a fringe sport but that doesnt mean we can't lift the sports profile.

I think over the last 12-18 months the game has stepped up and every event brings with it a next level approach. Perth Cup will be no different and in fact I'm really hoping to bring it to the next level.

We already have a sold out lineup with lifters on the waiting list... I don't know when that has ever happened in Perth.

The choice of venue and branding for the event make it attractive to sponsors, not to mention the PR we deliver through our own campaigns etc...

Bottom line... the LESS underground our sport becomes the higher profile sponsors we attract, from varying industries.
