'Muscle memory', how long is it good for??

Hi there guys, apologies if this is covered elsewhere but as I view this forum only on my phone (Tapatalk 2), I cannot 'search' (no option). Note: I also put in a request in another thread.

Anyway, 'muscle memory', how long is it good for?? Or is there no definitive answer due to too many variables? I have been really sick and won't be doing any exercise for at least 2 weeks. Rightly or wrongly I have also stopped counting my calories whilst I am laid up. Safe to say I am eating less at the moment.

You won't need muscle memory if you're only having 2 weeks off.

But to answer your question, the longer you've been working out the quicker you'll come back after a long layoff

Yeah no thing to worry about with muscle memory for only 2 weeks off, this could be a good rest period if you've training hard....

Update. 2 weeks off and 1st session back. I reduced the working sets from 5 to 1 with the same weight-felt good. Just easing myself back. I will ramp back into it over the next week.
Thanks for the contributions. Appreciated.

I had two weeks off recently. Came back and lifted even more, guess the muscles also like the odd full recovery too.

I had 4 weeks off in America and I had to reset alot of my weights. There was an elevated base level of strength, but above that it was gone. I don't see the problem though.
