CrossFit athlete Rich Froning is world's fittest man

There was someone on here a while ago saying NFL players should do crossfit lol
Can't remember who it was though.

Was discussing this with some guys at work today and I don't think there is a better test of fitness out there. You can't compare a tour cyclists to the best rock climber, it is just to different. I think they have a legit claim to the fittest on earth.

Thoughts?

I think Froning is the best crossfitter in the world.
Nothing more, nothing less.

No good doing Crossfit while you are trying to specialise at something. I know the Cowboys use Crossfit for the players that come in over weight (BF), so I guess they see it as good for weight loss, they call it the metabolic conditioning squad, and they all dread it.

Froning is the best Crossfitter in world, no doubt, but the question was is there a better test of fitness out there?

So what are you saying? A VO2 max test is a true test of fitness??

In my opinion they are pretty poor definitions of fitness...

Yes, agree on that one also.
Cardio respritory efficiancy is just one small aspect of "fitness" of the body.

I think strongman is a good test of strength, not sure about "fitness" though.

To be honest i dont take an interest in CF, but from traditional strong man you see heavy odd objects lifted, carried, pushed and run with.

I dont know about these days though.

My interpetation for fitness is "to do" and how quckly one recovers between doing.

I'm pretty much the same: Do more work in less time. Regardless of the task, be it a row/run/bike/swim/etc (faster time for distance or more distance in set time), Deadlifts/bench press/squats/etc (shift more load in set time or more load in single rep) etc etc..

I think those 6 words sums up fitness much better than the Oxford dictionary...
