Swimming laps - waste of time?

I've been swimming every morning for half an hour since the op. I feel fit, it's low impact and great for stomach and shoulders plus lung capacity. I enjoy it and find it hard work

Good stuff T.

From a purely health and fitness viewpoint.

I guess I don't see it a benefit if one is working hard at weights.

I think hard brutal weight training, stimulates muscle growth, it's the muscles of the whole body that supply work for the heart and lungs.

It's a different fitness. If your doing weights with minimal rest to get a cardio benefit you won't be getting maximal muscle growth and strength benefit.

I like swimming because its relaxing, fun , different and its more natural rehab for my shoulder.

That is all..
