Eric Spoto 700lb Bench at Animal Cage

lol.....

just flew up, I was shaking my head like the guy on the bottom left too...

What was he supposed to hit at the backyard meet? I thought it was 700 there too (paused obviously)

Yeah he went for a paused 716lb on all 3 attempts but lost it at lockout
That video in the OP is probably the single best bench feat I've ever seen tbh
Rick Weil's WR at 181 is probably better but I've never seen that lol

Backyard meet last year he went for 716, 1lb more than the world record.

I would guess in march he'll open with 700 then go for the record, thats just what I think though.

Doubt it

Better off taking 3 @ 716 and hope he nails 1
Rather than waste an attempt on 700

I read that he said he failed last time because there was a too long wait between when he warmed up and when he went for his first lift (took like an hour from when he warmed up to lifting apparently).

If so taking a last warm up for first lift might not be a bad idea.
