NSW changes to road rules from thursday

That roundabout rule has always been in place in qld, though hardly anyone does it. It's sure to cause more hold ups for ppl waiting for you when your just driving straight.

yep vic has the roundabout indication law too , but no one uses it not even the cops ,

we also have the mobile phone laws

From what I can remember in Vic you just indicate the way you are turning when you come up to the round about.

No indicating to exit. Unless its changed since I got my license.

for NSW before it was indicate as entering the roundabout now its before entering
not that most people use their indicators especially when changing lanes

I was under the impression the roundabout rule applied in nsw also, but only on multilateral roundabouts.

Ahh well.

You have to indicate to come out of a roundabout. No one does. Not even the driving instructors lol But when you sit your license, they mark you on it.

Do police enforce it? I would hope they have better things to do...lol

I get the impression that it's not policed up here in Qld.

A friend of mine was escorted by the police to the transport department when his rego was expired. He taught me how to indicate on roundabouts and basically he just indicated as you should - nothing beyond what is required by the road rules - and the cop actually commented on how well he indicated.

Anyway I don't think it's a revenue raiser - poor indication on roundabouts is dangerous.

1. Left indicator if going left, no indicator if going straight, right indicator if going right.
2. From the moment you pass the exit before the exit you are using, you should have your left indicator on.

Yep. no 1 was what I was told to do. Never told to do no. 2 as far as I can remember.

Interesting with all this who har about mobile phones use in cars etc etc there is not mention of using something like a UHF or CB radio.....

Fuck yeah this, it's not that fucking complicated fucks me how 2/3 of the drivers on the road can get it wrong.

well i recently had to sit my license test as I had an overseas license - the driving instructor taught me to indicate left when exiting the roundabout ALWAYS and they do test you on it during your driving test.

No fucker on the road does it though. No one I know does it either. I don't think it was always the case, it's a road rule thats been bought in, in recent years. I tell my brother to indicate all the time coming off roundabouts -but he drives like a fucking lunatic, one armed all the way around the roundabout and tells me to shut up or he'll deliberately ram the trucks on the road to cause me harm lol

alpha male testosterone 101, I really have no idea how I survived my childhood. lol His wife deserves a medal of courage for being married to his ass. :D

There you go, looked it up. In Victoria indicate left on roundabout exit is a new rule from 2009. That explains why I hadn't heard or been tested on it.

yep, I believe the new roadrule went Australiawide at that time too.

But they don't enforce it. Although it will probably be me who gets fined for not doing it someday soon lol

It's great I'm just hearing about 2009 road rules now. Lol.

lol you're all over it Bazza :p

Well at least now you know you can drive anywhere in Australia and indicate left when exiting a roundabout like a boss!?? I'm sure this is of great comfort to you :D
