As I get older, I often wonder about how my knees will fair in the coming years. Touch wood, I've never had any knee issues, but I know mates who do and it causes serious pain and discomfort. I can only image the pain since it would be present whenever you stand or walk. Sometimes even sitting can be painful.

I think a lot of knee injuries are RSI related while genetics rolls the dice for the rest of the game.

Would be good to hear from others who have had knee injuries and how you fared post treatment.
 
I've done my cruciate and had scopes.
If you get your VMO (tear drop muscle) strong, it helps a lot. That muscle holds the knee the most, so having a strong VMO is crucial. Since knowing this, I've had no knee pain or problems since.
 
I've had plenty of knee troubles the last few years and I have discovered plenty of things that don't work to improve it.

Struggled to find stuff that actually works.
 
Well I've always had good VMO development and strength so that must be my lucky charm.

Football must be the No1 cause of knee injuries. To be honest, I don't know how there aren't even more they way many land.
 
wouldn't doing squats work out the VMO aplenty (well, maybe box squats then)? Its part of the quads isn't it?
