nawww that's a BIG baby!!! Beautiful! I love big doggies....it'll be interesting to see how we go with a small pup!

So cute moons! Thank you for posting that pic! Adorable! lololol

That recliner has been owned. :D

Is the dog desexed, or will it be?
I suggest you do that or your bundle of joy will piss on everything and anything.

One suggestion I would make is to get a family vet sorted out pronto, that way you will know exactly where to go and ring for advice. They will also give you a schedule for the dogs check-ups etc.

Dogs are much like people, they need to get regular health checks, dental work, they get sick, they get stressed out lol, but they are great, you will love it Bella.

My partner and I foster puppies so we have new 8wk pups coming through our house every few weeks. We have a beautiful but extremely energetic 16wk ridgeback with us at the moment

When you find your local vet register for their puppy preschool at the same time. Essential socialisation and a little bit of training to boot.

Also, puppies need to go to the toilet the second they wake up and straight after eating. Take the pup to their toilet place immediately after they wake and feed, don't play with them and don't come back in until you get a result. Always give them a treat for peeing/pooing in they're right place and never get angry at them for doing it in the wrong place because it's your fault if that happens.

good luck :)

Hey Grambo, I missed this last night. He's only 8 weeks old tomorrow, so hasn't been desexed yet. I didn't want a girl because of the whole coming into heat thing. We have a local vet & I will take the new puppy to him for a thorough check over & talk about desexing too. I think he needs to be a bit bigger first?

Am organising pet insurance for any unforseen issues :eek:

And yes, they are like children. I wasn't even this nervous prior to giving birth! :D

The local vet already knows me well & the puppy hasn't even arrived yet! lol

Arrrgghhhhhhh I'm scared.
Excited, but terrified lol

Thanks also for the link sookie, I'll take a look :)

I purchase my treats from here

I couldn't open the link sookie? Grrr lol

Thanks March :) Potty training is going to be interesting lol
Lots of love & cuddles for him waiting here! I always wanted a son...this doggie may very well be it lol

Nooooo its a cavalier king charles cross. So its only a small puppy. It had to be a small pup, I'd feel bad otherwise. Dogs need space. The little one will get out lots though, we have parks & a dog park & a riverwalk nearby :)

I would have loved a staffy, they're adorable. But too big for an apartment.

No dog is to big for an apartment IF they have a good owner. When you leave for the day they will most likely sleep all of that time. A good owner would take them out for at least 30 minutes before they leave, when they get home and play/train them. A lot of owners are lazy due to the fact they have a yard and don't bother as much as those in apartments. Good choice with the King Charles they are normally quite a calm dog and not a bad size.

Thanks dave. He's adorable! I can't wait til tomorrow afternoon when he's home :)

I've just been doggie shopping :eek: this pet apparell & necessity business is going to become a very bad habit lol

Pictures of my new little man to come! 24 hours & he'll almost be here! Yay!

My dog is a sleeper. She sleeps all day whilst we are at work. Easy life lol

I hope my little man is the same sookie! :D

Ok today I got :

* worming tablets
* dog brush
* dog bed
* dog bowls x 2
* doggie fluffy blanket for comfort in his bed
* puppy food
* chew toys
* dehydrated lamb (like jerky) and sheeps ears :eek: (They apparently like these)
* A collar and lead
* A little doggie coat (he's going to be a very fashionable pooch!) lol
* Pee Pads (be interested to see if these work for potty training!)

First appointment made for the vet to give him a check over on Tuesday morning.

Doggie daycare within my area sourced, as I have a wedding next weekend and I will not leave him by himself, he's too brand new and too much of a baby still. It would break my heart and probably piss my neighbours off too! lol

I just need to get a gate to section off the tiled area I'm going to keep him in while I toilet train him, which I'm going to try and pick up tomorrow morning.

16 hours and he will be home :)

Am so scared. It's like having another child! Waaaaaaaaaaaaa

But excited! I can't wait to cuddle him!

P.S. Bella is now broke. lol

What sort of dog did you get Bella?

A little boy, a king charles cavalier cross...he had to be a little doggie because I live in a terrace apartment, so small pooch required!

This is the picture that made me fall in love...the cutest little boy on earth :)

He's so adorable. I want one

You should get another! :)

Yes he's Cute, at least you'll be home to pick up the poop and weewees

He's gorgeous!! And yes, that's exactly why I'm getting him now, I'm off work til at least September, it's a good time to get a puppy, help him settle in, potty train...all that stuff.

I can't wait til he arrives, my arms are itching to cuddle that beautiful bundle of love :)
