Obesity: Genetic or Poor lifestyle choices

Sort of feeling that facepalm via Choc.

The question is highly situational and depends on the person. Some people are fat due to poor lifestyle, some have a strong genetic (or psychological) component and others are a combination of both. One of the key triads (psychology) is often overlooked. It is equally as important as nutrition and training on our bodies and why we get to where we want to be, or don't. I promised clients I'd have my book out years ago... argh procrastination

yes because forced starvation, isolation, malnutrition and torture are excellent ways for the general population to lose weight................................

Drug addiction
Alcoholicism
Obesity/ crappy lifestyle

All on par with eachother really.

Some people enjoy shaving off 20-40 or more years off their lives, not for me.

Obesity is a lifestyle disease and like most lifestyle diseases some people have a pre-disposition to it. However, as the name suggests, a persons lifestyle choices can either progress or prevent the disease coming on.
