ANTHONY Mundine has been dubbed "The Mouse" - and his plan to conquer America ridiculed - after controversially backing out of a world title fight in the US.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal WBA junior middleweight champion Austin Trout, unbeaten in 24 fights, is furious with Mundine after the controversial Aussie refused a stoush for which he was mandatory challenger.

Management for both camps have argued the details of a potential championship bout for the best part of 18 months - with the WBA stepping in and scheduling a purse bid at its Panama headquarters just over a week ago.

Yet, despite having the opportunity to challenge a genuine American champion, Team Mundine failed to even attend the meeting - effectively ruling Australia's most divisive athlete out of the fight

Not surprised at all, while I haven't been following boxing as closely as of lat.e, Mundine has been dodging good opponents and hand picking has beens since he started boxing, while he he does have the talent to be one of the best he has done nothing for his public image by carrying on the way he has with opponents he constantly chooses
 
no big suprise there , fighting someone on the same sort of level you have to be kidding
 
Meanwhile world class Australian boxers like Darchinyan and Kastidis get completely ignored by the media what a joke.
