Well what the hell did you want him to do.

what the hell bazza u idiot my last blog on getting sick u told me if i kept getting sick i should go to the doctor and find out why i did that and got absolutely fuck all out of it except a hole in my wallet.

Most doctors are a waste of space, and thats all they do, walk in, they say,"What is wrong sir??" Well you are the doctor, you tell me....

:p

May be add plenty of Vitamin C tablets, I have dodged the cold all year, while everyone around me has been sick, some really sick. My missus got horribly sick, I immediately went out and bough a tub of Vitamin C, and started having three tabs three times a day, never got it......not sure if it's the Vitamin C or just luck though.......

Well you have seen him and he has told you that he doesn't think there is a problem. Be happy this is a good thing, you surely don't want to have a serious problem. If it's the flu stuff all you can do once you have it. Have you had a flu shot??

Is there anything else that makes you think there is something seriously wrong apart from getting sick a couple times which is quite normal.

The doctor you saw I assume was a GP? As their name implies they're just general practitioners. You display generic symptoms so he'll give you generic advice. If there really something wrong with you, you would have been given a referral to an immunologist or infectious diseases physician.

Be happy thats the only advice given to you. Geez people complain about everything these days.

Mate, some GPs are friggen hopeless, just because they are docs doesn't mean they know everything about health and medicine, I mean, they might of only just scraped through on their marks for their degree, how would you know?. I use to bull shit my way out of work as a young bloke working for TNT, we had our own doc on the team and once I convinced him I had conjunctivitis, bahahahaa, couldn't believe he fell for it.
My family doc we use now however is really good, so my advice is to go see another doc, at the end of the day whats a couple of bucks when it comes to your health, not all docs are good, but most aren't bad either, so see another one and ask for a referral to a specialist if your not happy with the diagnosis. They are only human, they get tired and couldn't be bothered as well, so when you come in and aren't in absolute agony, he prob couldn't of gave a rats arse about you, go see another doc mate and get to the bottom of it.

I get the flu like 3 times a year and each time hits me really hard missing upto 3-5 days of work and a whole week out of the gym each time how is that normal? All he did was take my temp and prescribe some cold and flu tablets, I didnt even ask him for medication i told him i keep getting sick and i dont know why then asked is there something that can boost my immune system and he said no then sent me on my way.

Could be the kidneys giving out..... had it happen to lady at work, always sick like cold and flu and one day she collapsed

That's not normal nor it is abnormal by any means. It probably just means you're more susceptible to the flu than most other people. More of a reason for you to get flu vaccinations.

Rambodian made a smart post. If you're not happy with him then see another doctor.

3 times a year wouldn't be classed as abnormal.

Again have you had a flu shot. If not, why??

What the fuck were you expecting him to do? Give you a magic solve all pill?

Yeah let's bash doctors, they're clueless bastards, unlike all the internet braniacs. FFS, the human body ain't an exact science, if it were then bodybuilding would be straight-forward, we'd all look like Arnie and there'd be no demand for forums like this.

Again I asked how i could boost my immune system and he told me there isnt anything specific that can boost my immune system then gave me piece of paper telling me which cold & flu tablets to get and said cya. Even my dad would say eat more fruit or something which is way more helpful then the doctor and wouldnt cost me 48 bucks

That's because if there is nothing wrong with you, boosting your immune system sounds nice but is pretty much a load of crap. And thats also why its really the domain of Naturopaths and other quacks.

If you seriously think there is something wrong get a second opinion, even ask to see a specialist.

I get where your coming from.
My mom went to her doc for frequent constipation and he wrote a prescription. I asked her how much water she was drinking and she said she hardly ever does (Pepsi fan) but the doctor didnt ask her anything about it so it prob doesn't matter.
Well I told her to just do some research, they attend many patients a day, week, month. Sometimes they fluke like anyone at their job and forget to ask things. When she went to pick up the prescription it said to take with lots of water. go figure.
I agree with the Naturopath statement but I don't think all of them are quacks. Go to both, get all bases covered you'll feel better.
