My mum used to have a few Nana Mouskouri records and I never really appreciated her until recently. When I say recently, I mean about 10 minutes ago lol.

Here's a tribute to this magical lady.

EDIT - When I said I never really appreciated her, I was talking about Nana, not my mum.

I've gone through half a box of tissues listening to her stuff.....I'm a little emotional atm, please forgive me.

This is the tale of a little boy
Wandering far from his home
Most of his family were with him then
And nothing but life did they own
Tortured by war in their native land
Their only recourse was to flight
Tracing the path of the sun by day
And led by the north star at night
Onward they pressed to the promised land
Not knowing if that was the way
And none of the children could understand
And this little boy used to say
Hey, hey, hey

Mama , where do we go from here
Mamma, why can' t we stay
Mamma, is daddy very near
Mamma, why do you pray

This really is one of her best....

Over and over I whisper your name
Over and over I kiss you again

She sings it very prettily but I love Rita Moreno so much more in the movie. Big Fan (although I don't agree with the song LOL, if it sinks in the ocean there goes my house)
The lady does have a lovely voice

I saw the movie when I was a kid and still remember how much I enjoyed it.....you're right, Rita is great!!

Four and twenty hours
Seven days of every week
I love you

She's just magic......I'm so glad I let Nana into my life.

Nana Mouskouri
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nana Mouskouri (Greek: Nάνα Μούσχουρη), born Ioánna Moúschouri (Greek: Ιωάννα Μούσχουρη) on October 13, 1934, in Chania, Crete, Greece, is a Greek singer who has sold nearly 400 million records worldwide in a career spanning over five decades, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.[1][2]

She was known as Nána to her friends and family as a child. (Note that in Greek her surname is pronounced with the stress on the first syllable - MOOS-hoo-ree - rather than the second.) She has recorded songs in many languages, including Greek, French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Hebrew, Welsh, Mandarin Chinese and Maori.
