Martial arts schools that have contracts...

I found a good school (I think) but they want me to sign a one year contract. What are peoples thoughts on contracts? If they didnt have the contract id already be joining but the contract makes me think twice.

I have been training there a little longer than a month.

1 year , the can jam that up their arse , no bloody way would i be signing up to anything for a year

I wouldn't join. Most martial arts places are happy with pay as you go, a contract makes them sound more interested in your money than you. ditch them.

I would not sign a contract at all. I dont care how good the conditions are. I dont like the idea at all Kindred.

Mate it's a con, I bet the instructor is like a used car sales man, My kids both do martial arts and I can pay monthly or nightly, no contracts, if they are not there they do not pay.

We have clubs like that around here, I just laughed at the guy and walked out the door, if they have that sort of deal they can not be that good, as they are trying to trap you (lock you in for 12 months), as you would probably other wise run a mile after a few weeks.

I used to teach matrtial arts so I know a LOT of the con men out there. One of the biggest local clubs here the 'master' has never even graded for his black belt (I know for a fact as I used to train with him). Yet he calls himself a master and does the same thing, locks people in for 12 months:mad:

Run a mile:p
