Haven't really had the need to use a belt yet because i am lifting like a little bitch. When i bulk up and really ramp things up next year, i'll look a lot closer at my options.

I ordered one online but its going to take 8-20 working days to come so i'll be waiting like 2-4 weeks at least :(

I use one for squats & deadlifts.

I use a leather one with a buckle. Any1 use/recommend the velcro belts? Or what is everyone's opinion on what is the best belt (within reason)?

Lol, brutal call on yourself! :D

I think i have changed my mind about using a belt.

I was doing Rack Pulls on Saturday and started at 170kg x 10. I twinged something in the middle of my back on my first rep. I carried on but my back has been giving me grief during the course of the week.

My old man has got this awesome leather weight lifting belt he used to use back in the 80's... I just need to wear spray on adidas shorts, headband and grow a porno spec moustache to ressurect the days and do it justice.

Only ever wear a belt if my lower back or abs are sore. I lift max weights with pretty high frequency atm so I don't want my muscles recovering faster than my tendons and shit + the extra weight I can lift with the belt and snapping something

Belts allow your abs to work harder and when squatting this allows your hip flexors to contract better to reduce hip tuck/lower back rounding.
