so fucking over getting sick :(

Lol. So basically all sticky and Christian can come up with is in there expert unqualified medical opinion the study is a fail, no actual valid reason or evidence. Well done boys. What great scientific minds you have.

And you wonder why I can't be stuffed posting up studies.

To the OP the reason I say go to the Doc is you may have a underlying problem and it's better to get it checked out from someone qualified. Rather than take unqualified advise about unproven methods from random people on the net, how sensible does that sound.

But hey if you want to take loads of vitamin c untill your shitting yourself, like sticky suggested, in the hope that it's going to fix you that's your choice. I wouldn't be taking that risk though.

Did you read the abstract or the whole thing, as much as i agree with the study, you cannot simply take the abstract and use it for your case. You need to look at methods, results etc. As they can really write whatever they want in the abstract.

Also, don't take massive doses of vitamin c, like said above, it does nothing, except for the 0.1% of the population who are vitamin c deficient. Same with echinacea (SP?), garlic (unless in laboratory conditions and a purified extract in an agar plate) etc.

That study is pointless Bazza, they are using 3g, I take 2.5- 3g as daily intake.

That is not 'mega dosing' ..NEXT?

Vitamin c absorption is saturable, the body can only ingest, then use a certain amount. How about reading the study before simply rejecting it. Taking 15g in one hit is simply pissing your money up the wall.

Your spot on. I didn't even want to mention echinacea or garlic alongside vitamin c because couldn't be bothered dealing with the onslaught of quackery that will result.

I thought I was doing alright by dodging the colds that my family has had for the last 3 months. Been stocking up on Vitamin C and shit and now got the flue urgh ..
