All hail Eddie - Hard Rock and Heavy Metal

There seems there's a few of us that are into hard rock and heavy metal.
Figured I'd start a thread where we can share bands, favourite songs, gig talks etc etc!

I'll kick it off with some of my favourite bands:

Starting with a band that I have over 11 hours worth of music

The retiring Metal Gods (that I get to see at their last ever gig :D)

One of the more unheralded bands out there imo

Probably the most commercially successful

Some home grown metal (though they've got different names they're essentially the same band)

Probably my favourite of the 'newer' metal bands

Awsome German melodic death

More on the 'softer' side. Awsome vocalist

Something a little bit more 'out there'

And finally a couple of solid Australian prog rock bands

Maiden.

My favorite band of all time.

Saw them Live a couple years ago in Brisbane, they went off.

So glad they played Hallowed Be Thy Name!

I've seen them 3 times now.

Their Somewhere Back In Time tour, at Wacken Open Air in Germany last year and then Soundwave this year. Ironically I was desperate to see them the first time cos I never thought I'd get another chance lol

You read their book, and seen Flight 666 documentary?

I loved the band since I heard Run To The Hills on Countdown in the 80's.

I've seen Flight 666, tbh didn't know they had a book.

My mate played me Hallowed Be Thy Name from Rock In Rio. Been hooked since.

I'm more into hard Rock rather than Metal.

Some of my favourites are:

Scorpions
Alice Cooper
Deep Purple
Whitesnake
Ronnie James Dio
UFO
Michael Schenker
Uli Jon Roth
Todd Rundgren and Utopia

This band has good music to train to [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3WJX1cIuY4]YouTube - Amon Amarth - "Twilight of the Thunder God" Metal Blade Records[/ame]

Classics.

Whitesnake are great.

I had a good sound system in one of my cars with MB Quart speakers and JBL subwoofers and with Still of The Night cranked, was like a rock concert in there.
