Farts are caused by excess carbs. Although the smell can be caused by anything you eat. That's why kangaroo isn't great when bulking as they are rank

I have roo each morning in my roo mince and veg sort of soup thingo, usually doesn't make me fart but the other day I was rank, had to wind down the window in the truck a few times, was like I had been sentenced to the gas chamber.

Generally farts are caused by the incomplete digestion of resistant carbohydrates (like cellulose etc.) Baked beans are complex and hard for you to break down so they make you fart. If you are lactose intolerant, you are not completely breaking down that particular carbohydrate. And if you eat stuff with sulphur in it it adds to the smell. Dried apricots etc are preserved with sulfur products.

There is a product called Bean-O that helps you digest the carbs in beans so you don't fart. And a product called asafoetida may help too.

I have seen evidence that swallowing air and not burping it can also create a fart stream.

I reckon Baked Beans causing Farts is somewhat of a Myth. Doesn't cause me to Fart.

When i had abs i could fart on demand. I still try to move the sphincter at least a couple of times per hour. If i save it then i can deploy a chemical weapon later, good for shopping centres and elevators. Stand near someone old and everyone will blame them. I fart on the dogs and they leave the room. For a few years i worked overseas and the bowel took a while to adapt. It made me miserable not being able to express myself in my native dialect. After about a year the bowel adapted and there was less liquid in the bum speech. Then i stopped travelling and had to re adjust to western food. The problem was my anus had aged and atrophied a lot. Every fart expelled a tiny greasy pebble and because my arse is really hairy i had to carry that companion with me for the rest of the day. Plucking with toilet paper wrapped hands did not always work. I needed a good sweat or a shower to loosen it. I have farted four times since i started typing this and no poo.
