I don't see what's so perplexing??
I find comparing having red hair and being gay even more perplexing, not quite on par really.
Of course I'm not saying I'd be disappointed with my son if he was gay, as a straight man and a father I'd prefer that he was not gay however I'd love and treat him just the same gay or not, if he's happy then I'm happy, I don't know what more you could ask.
