Best time to exercise

Is there a best time to exercise or doesn't it matter?

I mean both cardio and weight lifting.

I normally work out in the arvo ... weights sesh from about 3.30-4.30

then i go for a run from 4.30-5.30

should i be doing it in the morning instead?

and also should i b doing it in that order? or cardio first then weights

I think it depends on whether you're a morning/afternoon/night person. Presonally I only workout during the afternoon or night so i can take a nap afterwards. I've tried a morning workout but i feel totally worn out for the rest of the day.

I prefer weights in morning, running in arvo and weights at night. I don't like running when it's dark, coz i'd probably stack it

I recently read that you have a higher chance of back injury if you work out in the morning vs afternoon, because your spinal discs haven't compressed yet and hence are more susceptible to damage.

The validity of that concept i have no idea of and i don't necessarily support it , i just thought i'd throw it in.

By the way my personal preference would be cardio in the morning, and weight training in afternoon. Not both on same day though
