Hi,
I was just wandering if i am noticing gains in strength on my lifting i.e higher reps becoming possible and heavier weights needed to stimulate my muscle fibers is it a given that my muscles will be growing?
thanks :)

Strength is both neural and muscular. So you can get stronger without building muscle but that muscle will eventually have to catchup to the neural side of things or you don't get anywhere. So you just keep progressing every session and you eventual grow. That is if you are eating enough food, so as Paullie said have you put on weight?

It is easily possible to increase the strength of an person without increasing body his body weight.

And it is even possible, if not quite so easy, to increase strength while actually reducing body his body weight.

But little or nothing can be done to increase the actual strength of a particular muscle without also increasing mass, and thus the weight, of the same muscle.

To stimulate muscle growth there needs to be overload.
Without this nothing is possible.
