Hi peeps,

I decided that it was time for a lifestyle change, get more healthier and fit , so i took the plunge and joined a gym

My stats are as follow I'm 6'5 and weigh125 KGs, all the weight is in my torso areaa. I do have to say that in general i am pretty big, To coincide with the new lifestyle change, i thought that i would start hitting the gym 4-5 days a week to get me fit and trim

Should i hit the weights hard or get hot and sweaty on the cardio?
Anyone care to share some tips or hints to working off Kilo's from the gut waist area...

Cheers,
Hi-boy

congrats on taking the first step towards the lifestyle change ,
to lose those extra kilo's you need to burn up for more then what you put in

Doing weights is reasonably energy intensive and burns a fair amount of calories.
Doing weights will burn calories longer than cardio - with cardio you only burn calories while you're doing cardio, weights last much longer after you've finished your workout. Weights sort of put the body into overdrive so even a few hours after your still burning calories

IF you're going to do weights, stick to the big compound exercises - squats, deadlifts, bench press, shoulder press.. they use the biggest muscles in the body (multiple muscles)

with your cardio , don't go doing anything too intensive , due to your weight you could do more damage then good , start off with a brisk walk
