Deadlifts in the gym

I am going to my mates gym tomorrow night and its the day I do deadlifts. The problem is there is no real space for it and nights are really busy. The only free area is really in the walkway between the barbell racks. But I don't want to be that guy who blocks peoples path. At the same time, I don't want to be that guy who takes the bars out of the squat rack and uses that for deadlifts thus stopping people from doing squats.

Any suggestions?

If there is no room to do them then do them in the squat/power rack....if there is no room for deadlifts in the gym iam sure not many ppl will be squatting lol

When I was at a gym I simply used to set the bar up where there was space for a bar and me to stand behind it.

Grabbing a squat rack is an option, although I'd feel like a bit of a sped doing deadlifts in one if there was someone waiting to actually squat.

If there really is no other room in the gym to deadlift I'd use the squat rack and not worry about others who may want to squat.

either way if you were using the squat rack to squat or deadlift, you'd be using it.

the rack is designed to be used for things like squats, deads, military press and unspotted bench. do not worry if someone waiting to use it for squats, they would be waiting regardless of if you were using it for deads or squats. it is there to be used, and you can use it just as much as they can.

At the gym near me, people used to bring the bench into the squat rack so that they could do situps...

If i was waiting to do squats in the rack, and someone was deadlifting, no worries. Use the rack and don't worry about others.
