What's your best method for fat loss?

Look, dieticians are simply trying to justify their jobs.

Of course they dont want people simply eating natural unprocessed food, what would they then do for a job.

Eating, like lifting, is not that complicated. It would be extremely difficult to become obese, as Beau was, on the food provided by Mother Nature.

Eating and lifting simply needs to be stripped back. Stick with 10 basic exercises, rotate them, continually add weight, only eat what runs, swims or flys, is green and grows out of the ground.

I would be extremely surprised if EVERYONE couldnt harden up by simply doing this.

Anybody, in any profession, including me, will try and justify their job. By a dietician claiming that my nutrition advice was poor, confirmed their ignorance. Its like a PT saying that you need to do isolation work to build muscles and justifying lying on a Swiss ball flapping your arms around.

I dont hide behind complicated theories or advanced nutrition and exercise advice.

Anybody claiming we need anything other than what Nature provides is a top class moron.

Thats actually all i want for people...

We should learn that at Primary school, not go to a specialist AFTER we get obese.

The fact is, you could fit the people that know this from all around the world in Fitness First Glen Waverly.

Why?

The same reason anything happens markos

$$$$ and greed, globalisation... you name it...

Problem is by the time we are able to do anything about it the dmaage has been done... But its ok because of that damage we can sell you pharmacuticals to fix the symtpoms of your problems not the problem itself...

This is the world we live in and the truth of it is very sad, just not many people have the ability to see past the bullshit, smoke and mirrors.

I have to show scientific research as to why i am reccomending a client do resistance training, eat xyz and not eat junk food this is the requirement for my assesements. Why am i telling this person to drink 3L of water a day and be active? I dont know common sense for starters!

I do truley want to help people and i believe you do to yet why do we have to jump through hoops to do that?

Why can some no brained moron put an add for a happy meal on TV but i need to do 3-4 years of uni to tell people to eat healthy food?

Knowing the Master from the servant...

First and foremost, a positive change of attitude on life since this would be the catalyst for all your disrupted hormones to get back to normal levels. I'm thinking of an overweight person here instead of a fit athlete (bodybuilder).

If the master computer is not in a balanced state, how can we expect the body (which is controlled by the master) to have a chance in changing. First look at the Master controller, for the brain has a profound effect on our servant body...

I have lost 24 kgs from reducing my carbs (Atkins style), I also run and have just started to lift weights.

Very good point Fadi, psychologically under control, I have been trying to stress this point to OutofControl.

Also would you suggest your 13500 calorie diet for fat loss??? :)

How has your body composition changed, if you don't know bodyfat levels whats the difference in the mirror after 24kg? Also even though you reduced the carbs how were your total calorie intakes?

I disagree with this comment.

I hate my job, and it could easily be done by a computer.

(If I was to justify, I would say that my company is slack as **** and don't want to pay the extra to make us all redundant haha)

Basically, my whole venture into weights and eating right has been to fulfil my dream of becoming a copper :)

Now I've gotta hope they give me a bit of leeway over my shady driving history haha.

job vs profession. I hate my job but it pays the bills while i am doing my masters, its not my profession its not even closely related to it. I can not and will not justify some of the crap we provide and have to do but once again Markos said profession.

When you become a cop you will be justifying yourself and the force to others (A FREAKING LOT), that is because it is your profession (or at least the one you want to be in).

Lost it mostly of my stomach but I guess everywhere.
My measurements were as follows:
Chest 109>100 Belly 115>93 Waist 100>90
Calories were somewhere between 1500-1800 I guess.

No, just a slight decrease in calories and a huge increase in one's metabolic rate (through exercising) should do the trick. Of course, both of these aspects would be pointless (and would hardly get off the ground) without the right attitude being the catalyst.

PS: Ask 10 people about how they lost the weight and you may get 10 different answers (with 10 different diets). However when looking deeper, what you'll discover as a common denominator in all these 10 is a change of attitude where the three Ds have played a huge role in their success. These three Ds are Determination, Dedication, and Discipline. That is why my emphasis is and will always be first and foremost on the psychological before the physical as I'm sure you Dave do appreciate :).

Youre right fadi people won't change unless they are motivated first, best point that can be said.

I like to hear everyones answers and see how people work, I especially like to here if they just come out and say I thought I was fat and needed to do somethin about it so I did.

Unfortunately (and generally speaking Dave), people will only get a move on when they (or someone dear to them) gets a rude awakening either with a threat of a major disease or a heart attack/stroke of some sort. It's unfortunate but it's true. Rarely would you find someone who is fat just waking up one morning feeling healthy and happy yet deciding to lose weight, it would never never never happen. There's always that shock, that jolt to the system be it through the physical or the psychological pathways, but a shock nonetheless that forces them to take action...most often a desperate type of action with bad results...until they discover Ausbb and get it straight :D...(just kidding with the Ausbb bit okay)!

Maybe I straddle both groups. Never used scales, never really thought about it. I used to be sporty and healthy, but since becoming a Minister and the sedentary lifestyle that accompanies it the weight just crept up from 75kgs. Last September I stepped on the scales for the first time in 10 years, 105kgs. That was a shock, I really was fat.

Made my mind up that unless I changed things in 10 years I'd probably be 120kg. Researched how you get fat, looked at the physiology of it all and decided on an atkins diet (low carb) and followed it reasonably but not slavishly closely. It has been said on here by many people, but the key is this, knowledge, determination and perseverance. You need to know how you got fat and what you need to do. You need to determine that there will be a cost and be willing to pay it, that means drastic changes for many of us. Perseverance, you need it in spades, because you need to establish good habits and keep at them when you feel like it and when you don't!
Now off on a 8klms run.

Minister like religous?? Or minister political?

Minister religous, eat only what god has provided you and how can you go wrong? Disease is an abomination brought on by the acts of mankind...

I've lost about 50 kg's, I was once 110/115kg's, then i went down to 63kg's, now i'm a whole 66kg's still trying to loose my belly and love handles. I am on the paleo diet/Primal diet from this Mark's Daily Apple.

I didn't change my diet only to loose fat, i also did it to feel better physically, everyday for the last 7ish years, I am fatigue'd and don't sleep well, feel like its whole one big dream.

I think people need to experiment with what works for them, and have decipline to keep going, I have a lot of will power. I was not fat cause i didn't, I was fat cause it was the only lifestyle i knew. Once i found out i could be better, i changed :)
