uh right.

not trying to be contentious here as it seems even saying the most innane stuff will arouse the ire of whoever but i dont understand why a natural lifter would want to compete any where else other than PA.

seems a bit odd that nattys would choose to go up against guys on the gas rather than join a fed with a level playing field.explain to me why you would choose a fed where you have zero chance of winning in.

gerry, are you accusing all (or most) lifters in CAPO and GPC as being on drugs?

Where is your proof?

the only GPC lifter I know who is on drugs is Oni.

can you reread my post a little slower.i get tired of you misrepresenting the facts.im not accusing anyone.shit man im seeing a big character flaw that you have.
let me repeat it for you ok?..why would natty lifters want to compete in an uneven playing field where some guys are on and some arent.
is their a division in GPC for nattys?

well answered gerry; a lot of lifters choose to lift in other feds because of non-drug related reasons.

sorry for my misunderstanding.

umm and also it wasnt really directed at you considering you have a history of steroid use and have only competed once.i dont see your name in the results of PA either so im not sure how u have an opinion on "how its run"..
plus ur total of 515 with wraps@105 isnt likely to have anyone below m3 shaking in their boots to be fair.

I know a heap of natural lifters who lift in GPC/CAPO, they don't want the hassle of drug testing, the boredom of P.A meets and the bs political stuff that goes on. Plus if you train in a typically GPC/CAPO oriented gym, you want to compete with the guys you train with.

Very very few lifters in GPC are on drugs.

gerry, what is most annoying about your comments is your crap about winning and who is comparable to you, and who is not.

Are you one of those tossers who just competes if he can win a bullshit trophy or medal?

Most of us here compete because we like to test ourselves. Well, that is why I do.

you need to wise up.

seriously, winning at powerlifting, especially against a few competitors, is rather meaningless in the scheme of things.

BTW, where are your lifting clips?

gerry would be the first to admit that oni is a much stronger than he.

He is already a great fan of Oni. If I remember right, he even suggested Oni as possible moderato for powerlifting forum based on his lifts. Is that right gerry?

I had the choice of PA or CAPO, though CAPO would have required me to pay to train or be coached at a local crossfit gym, I chose PA, because IMO it has the most consistent rules and best squatting that is more in common with what anyone can do at home or in a gym without knee wraps (equipped) without specialised equipment. Also things like not using specialised deadlift bars etc. I also like the setup of the comps - they are set up as a formal sporting event - no need for blasting metal music and fancy murals on the walls etc.

I agree that some of the rules are tightarsed in PA/IPF, and IMO it costs too much for novices to compete, as well as rules around what can and can't be worn etc etc. IMO powerlifting as a sport would be a lot better if all 3 feds in Australia merged into PA.

I have noticed a number of GPC / CAPO types who claim that hardly anyone's using gear etc etc etc, there's an easy way to clear this up, start drug testing.

My .02 as a relative newbie to the world of powerlifting.

PS nice bait thread, I'm sure Markos would have had a good rage if he were still on here.

The Government will only pay for 1 drug tested federation, if you want to lift amongst drug tested athletes go to P.A, if you don't care there are plenty of options.

A guy totalling 500@100kg is not going to be on gear. Go to the top and you will likely find it to be the case where they are on, but the majority are not, just look at the totals in the results.
