What promo code did you use? I was watching those but $120 was too steep - good catch at half price.

    bumper/weights question

Without measuring with callipers the small diameter 2.5kg plates are approx. 17cm, the 5kg plates are 21.5cms

    bumper/weights question

Hey kal-el, I did a review that's sitting a couple of topics down on the first page on the cyber market prostyles I bought if they are the one's you mean. Have a look at that thread and I'll be happy to answer any other questions, Matt

Buying Prostyle Dumbbells - A cyberfit rubber dumbbell review

That would certainly help cut down on size! Though the constant contact with lead may retard you.. have to rubber coat them ;) I read a thread once where someone was arguing for depleted uranium dumbbells to minimize size - should have plenty of that coming out of Iraq nowadays...

New Leverage Bench Press - anyone bought one?

Yeah that's definitely on the list for my next place - they take up so much space though, but you can't really replace them with a functional trainer either. I'm making do with some power bands between two columns for now!

New Leverage Bench Press - anyone bought one?

Yeah I've got the fixed prostyles up to 50kg, they're great for just grabbing and going which is precisely why I bought them. Really great addition to a home gym. I did a review with pics on them on here a while ago. With the leverage stuff I guess I'll just have to try them out in person. Like...

New Leverage Bench Press - anyone bought one?

Well that's true, but it was always a want not a need! I like the idea of having a station pre set up, that I can walk up to and shrug or press with ease. I agree about the fixed plane which is why I'd be interested to hear from anyone who owns one.

New Leverage Bench Press - anyone bought one?

Yeah I've got a rack and Olympic weights, and a set of dumbbells. I was looking at this for some isolation/burn/continuous tension work as an addition to what I already have. Back in my commercial gym days I stayed clear of machines, thinking them inferior. A lot of pros (bodybuilders not power...

New Leverage Bench Press - anyone bought one?

Southside fitness in Brisbane is stocking a new 'revolution' brand leverage bench press for $450 that's similar to the powerteck leverage bench that retails for $850ish. Has anyone demoed this model? http://www.southsidefitness.com.au/New-Releases/REVOLUTION-LEVERAGE-BENCH-PRESS Does anyone...

Buying Prostyle Dumbbells - A cyberfit rubber dumbbell review

No the handles stay the same diameter thickness all the way up. Some cheaper dumbbells like hex actually need thicker handles at the higher weights as they are screw in and/or welded. The thinner handles at the higher weights may be less comfortable for presses, but they are easier to grip for...

Thanks for that! Yeah I'm the same re grip - need all the help I can get, the narrower the better!

Buying Prostyle Dumbbells - A cyberfit rubber dumbbell review

Thick enough for pressing? I actually wanted straight handles, not ergos. On the site they used to sell straight as well but they don't get them in anymore - another reason that I purchased extras. While I wasn't happy at settling for ergos I've actually come to like these. Good knurling, not...

Buying Prostyle Dumbbells - A cyberfit rubber dumbbell review

Part 3 Now specifically why the cyberfit ones? Pros and Cons. Price. Cyberfit hands down wins on price. Not only do they do rubber prostyles for Trefiddy a kilo, but Steve is a great guy who will work with you and your budget. He’s also happy to sell you parts like handles, endplates...

Buying Prostyle Dumbbells - A cyberfit rubber dumbbell review

Part 2 OK, why not ‘one piece’ cast or welded prostyles? Why plates? Good question. If you are looking at getting urethane dumbbells (which you may when I review some disadvantages below) you may have to go the ‘one piece’ cast or welded route. Force USA dumbbells are one example. Aside from...

Buying Prostyle Dumbbells - A cyberfit rubber dumbbell review

Part 1 I thought I’d give a review on the cyberfit prostyle dumbbells I bought. I spent a lot of time researching prostyle rubber dumbbells in Australia before committing to these. There were a few questions I had before I bought them that I couldn’t find answered on the net that I thought...

    Set of Prostyle Dumbbells

I've been meaning to do a review of the set of pro-styles I got from cyber market for a while now. I've checked back here a few times and it really seemed like there wasn't much action anymore. Still, I put a lot of time into choosing these style dumbbells in Australia, and considered every...

Next back machine for the home gym....

There's no way around it, you're going to need to demo those two to be able to decide. I love rows, but finding a seated supported row that feels just right can be hard to do. Especially if it is a fixed arc lever, getting the seat in exactly the right spot so your natural movement matches the...
