    Barbell: ABC or TPB?

I went with an ABC power bar, really happy with it. I don't have a TPB to compare it to though.

    Half rack or full rack?

Would you also consider this? I don't know how well it would go as a rack, but it could be great. Super Yoke – Crossfit SWS Games Day – 13th October | Aussie Strength Equipment Super Yoke | Aussie Strength Equipment

    Half rack or full rack?

The reason for not going rogue was the price and the features that you get for the price. The rack I have seems to be exactly the same as the NC fitness rack. A few aussie suppliers seem to be selling the same stock, just with a difference badge stuck on it. I didn't know this at the time and...

    Half rack or full rack?

http://ausbb.com/workout-equipment/23588-force-usa-cross-fit-style-half-rack.html I ended up going with a half rack and don't regret it. See the thread above for more information about what I ended up doing, and why.

Finally brought a house - Bring on the home gym!

I still reckon a set of good bumpers would be money well spent. I am lucky in that I picked up some 450 mm bumpers really cheap, a pair each of 20's and 15's. I chuck those on to warm up and then slide on my smaller diameter plates for my heavier sets. I have a pair of ABC rubber coated 20's...

Finally brought a house - Bring on the home gym!

in my experience most iron/rubber coated 20's and 25's aren't 450mm in diameter. I am sure they exist, they just don't come up for sale second hand around where I live.

Finally brought a house - Bring on the home gym!

It seems like a lot of equipment. have you measured out your space and worked out how much will actually fit in? don't forget that free space is just as important. I would probably buy less equipment but spend more on what is really important. I would rather have a sorinex darkhorse or...

BENT AFTER 2 MONTHS! Force USA Commercial Grade Olympic Power Bar (1500lb)

I have the ABC power bar with deep fine knurl and am beyond stoked with it. If you call up you should be able to get it for $433 + $70 shipping or something along those lines. Just be aware that their couriers (toll ipec) won't leave the bar on your doorstep if you aren't home so you might...

    Rack or rig - confused

I should probably say that after a month of traning with the spx rack the only think I wish I had was proper plate storage (forceusa/muscle motion commercial models, or sorinex dark horse) or band pegs on the bottom. everything else is just as good as a proper power rack to my mind.

    Rack or rig - confused

Yeah, it really depends on your requirements and limitations. The crossfit style half rack was the only thing that was going to suit my space well, in most other situations I reckon a good solid power rack is the way to go.

    Rack or rig - confused

I have the SPX rack from aussie strength and it's pretty tough. I didn't get the dip handles so I can't comment on them, I am getting some cheap olympic rings for dips. If you read this thread you can read my review of my initial thoughts about the rack, and a link to what appears to be the...

price check on used weight plates

I managed to pick up 2x20 kg Australian Barbell Co. rubber coated oly plates today for $1 per kilo. The bargains are out there, they just don't come up all that often.

    Recommendations for garage gym

I have the ABC power bar, with the "deep fine knurl". I think it's perfect for hang clean and press/power cleans. I was using a really awful bar previously so to me I can't imagine bearing bars rotating any better than this one. Perhaps they do, but this bar serves me well so far.

price check on used weight plates

$3.00 per kilo is about the cheapest Olympic sized plates come up for sale in Canberra, I was lucky to get 70kg of no name bumpers, and another 40kg smaller plates with a cheapo barbell and bench for $120 but since then no other bargains have come up :(

    Buying a quality barbell

First workout on the ABC BOP220 power bar done. This thing is seriously amazing. I am on the final stages of recovering from a minor knee injury so I just did a medium weight workout with a bit of everything thrown in. I didn't realise how much energy was being wasted using a slippery...

    Buying a quality barbell

Order placed. I am currently waiting on an ABC power bar with the deep fine knurling, standard powerlifting markings and center marking on the center knurl. Thank you for all the advice. Daniel from ABC was good to deal with on the phone and answered all the questions I had.

    Buying a quality barbell

I consider myself to be both of these, particularly the last one haha. If I am going to buy a bar it's going to be a good one. If I can come to a decision on a marking and knurling I will be putting my order through with ABC. I will probably either sell my old bar, or if it's not worth enough...
