    no need to test max 1 rep. but I do test myself every training session .

    more intense cardio will affect your recovery . if you are after gaining some mass and strength I would do low intensity 45 min on no workout days.

    get over your fears . train hard , eat well and recover.

    find someone that knows and get him/her to go trough the form with you. you can get hurt by squating with wrong form.

    45 min is considered Ideal. as long as you do not take over two hrs , and you are progressing and recovering its ok. a bit dramatic the image of your muscles getting eaten away....

    the all issue with training is progressive Resistance . that is why to keep progressing eventually added Resistance is needed.

    I do rack deads . from a hight of just bellow the knees , its minimize leg involvement.
