    Cheap home gym?

Don't think your heart is in it mate. I did what you are thinking of doing: pissed around with half racks and standard bars and plates to save money...it was a massive waste of time, not to mention dangerous and detrimental to training. What I should have done from the start was get the...

    Jetts Gym vs Home Gym

A pretty safe rule of thumb is if they don't have a squat cage: stay away, they are not a real gym.

    Cheap home gym?

Fluffy is dead on the money. Don't stuff around with sub standard gear. If you can't afford it now, lay by or keep squirrelling cash away whilst doing a body weight routine.

    Ultimate Workout Environment

I have a mate who visited a Russian gym: rusty plates, paint coming off the walls, ACDC blasting from the stereo, torn heavy bags hanging off massive girders. He says it was amazing.

    Ultimate Workout Environment

It should be the reverse of almost every modern gym: more cages than treadmills, more bars than bikes, more plates than machines and going for that dead PR? The feel free to make as much noise as you need to get you through. Edit: it's funny, all my mates' dreams are to open a pub. Mine is to...

    Replacing safety bars on cage

Mate any steel rod that will fit through the holes will be able to support anything you through at it. Find a mate who welds and get him to whack some stops on it for bonus points.

    EZ Curl bar for pansies?

Personally I like a wider bar in my hands (cooer missus) and prefer the workout in my wrists of the oly during curls or crushers. I can totally see how bad wrists could ruin your day on it though.

    Power Racks

Yeah mate I was pleased as hell when I pulled it all out of the box: every single piece of their cages is heavy and thick, including the pull up bar. The only problem I've had is the pins "support" bending very slightly. It's hard to explain but the pins have a right angled piece of steel that...

    Power Racks

For any Sydney-siders I've had nothing but good experiences getting stuff from a little store in Seven Hills called Cyberfit. I'm assuming they just rebrand everything with their own name but the gear is good. I bought my cage from there ages ago and I just helped a mate put up his own. Quality...

Hi [you] and welcome to ausbb

Hi all. I'm a 30 year old currently hailing from Sydney's Hills district. I've only been seriously training for about a year and a half and seriously eating for about one, with a few setbacks during that time frame which have put my numbers a little lower than I'd like. Currently running a...
