the what u saw at the gym TODAY thread

Yesterday I witnessed something great... Rocked up to my normal commercial gym on a Sunday arvo thinking it would be empty as usual. Walk in and head to the rack for some benching. A lady in the rack next to me with her partner/trainer doing some 30-40kg front squats, after this they move to...

    Major Exercises & Commercial Gyms

My gym has a few deadlifters and squatters. Of the 15-20 regulars there when I am in the evenings I will see about half deadlift throughout the week including 3 females. And probably about the same number squatting, although only about four don't quarter or half squat. Rare to see BB rows...

I don't think he played two Super 15 seasons before the last world cup.. just the one for Crusaders in 2011.

    0ni's diet log

How are you finding the PSMF's? Any impact on training? I have introduced them prior to my midweek sessions and seem to get light headed without really pushing myself too hard.

How far in advance to you prepare meals?

Prepare on the fly with the occasional stew kept in the fridge/freezer for when I am short on prep time. If there is food in front of me a generally eat it so not often there are leftovers.

    Training hungover

I like them. Normally feel sluggish for the first few sets, but it means I get a few litres of water into me so I feel better by the time I walk out. Workouts tend to drag out a little with longer rest periods.

    Origin

Merritt is in... finally gets his chance. Hopefully get to see Inglis run over him, a bit like he did to the Wolfman a few years ago. Also looks like Harrison is dropped for Qld and Papalii is in. Hopefully give us some more impact from the bench... and someone to take Gallen out.

Do you lift weights slowly or quickly?

For working sets slow and controlled on the negative and fast on the positive. As Bazza said weight will determine the speed of the bar. I might throw in some fast reps (negative and positive) of a light weight in my warm up or for a drop set afterwards.
