[Article] Lose Fat the Fun Way

Towers of Hanoi springs to mind. Interesting game, but as you add disks to it, the time it takes to complete increases exponentially. Imagine a "strongman" version of that LOL:D

    new job weight training

Jim, before you lock in plans or join a gym on a contract, get into the job for a few weeks and get a feel for it. I work in IT, and have for several big 4s, telco, IT and government. All good team and managers should be promoting work-life-balance, and will encourage you to have a life outside...

    [Movie] Movie Review Thread

I watched Matrix Reloaded a few weeks ago. Hadn't seen it before even though I really liked the matrix when it came out. Reloaded ust be one of the best movies I've ever seen. Fantastic fight scenes and action. I have to sit down and watch all 3 now. Speaking of fight scenes, I borrowed a mates...

    Is this true?

I have found it difficult to eat enough to gain. I don't want to be uncomfortably full and still eating all the time. I add calories with whey and carb supps, i think it is making a difference.

    Body-Building + Boxing - Workable?

For general fitness, this sounds excellent. I currently do gym 3 times/week, and other cardio twice a week. I feel my fitness steadily increasing, much more than just one or the other. Go for it and see how it goes for you.

    Leg Extensions Bad for Knees?

My knees sound a bit like velcro, no snaps or pops, just crackles :) But I never notice it at the gym, mainly when I'm ascending or descending stairs. I think the gym is too noisy to hear it... but no pain. Or in the middle of the night when I put the baby in the cot and the room is absolutely...

    Split gym vs home

I am very happy if I can have 90 minutes, which includes top/from and shower, so maybe the workout itself can take 60-70 minutes. Often I get less time, so I drop the abs exercises.

    Split gym vs home

I didn't mention it, but I am also running a couple of time a week at work during lunch. Also, some of the guys at work climb stairs. We do about 100 floors during lunch once a week. It's quite a workout. Ideally I would spend longer on my 3 days at the gym per week. But I can't, so I'd like to...

    Split gym vs home

As I only get a limited time at the gym on Mon-Wed-Fri, I am considering splitting my program so I can do some exercises Tue-Thur-Sat, but at home in my own time - i cannot attend the gym on these days. Ideally these would only need limited equipment - ie I don't want to buy heaps of equipment...

    bodybuilding gym in melbourne

The gym I go to has a swimming pool, and fitness/cardio classes. If you join a gym which ALSO has these facilities, you may be able to make good use of them. I take my kids to the pool Saturdays and Sundays they get in free on my membership. That alone makes the extra worth it. Sigh, I remember...

    Donating blood and or plasma.

A few guys from work go to donate together. We all sit there squeezing the little squishy toy they give you as fast as possible to get the best time :p The nurse said the other day, "Are you guys racing each other?" LOL

How accurate are those body fat scales?

I have measured my Bodyfat on scales at the gym. The scales had two different methods for measuring. First method told me 13+% Second method told me 7% Essentially, I'm no wiser now than before :D

    Donating blood and or plasma.

I donated a couple of days ago. I have always been under the impression that donating is a positive thing for your body, with some benefits. I am sure I read it years ago, but can't remember exactly what. Might have to google it!

    Do bodybuilders do cardio?

I've never done a body pump class, but they are scheduled for several times a week at my Gym. I believe they do a variety of barbell exercises (curls, presses, rows, etc) at low weight but many repititions for each over the 45 minutes of the class. I'm a bit embarrassed to have a go, 95% ladies...

    Do bodybuilders do cardio?

bodypump A "bodypump" class perhaps? I think this is weights and resistance for entire body? My gym has this class at some convenient times.
