Muscle Meals Direct

Yeah i think you need to look into things a little, for the Wife, 3yo son and myself we might spend about $100 a week at a supermarket, and then every second week or so will goto a bulk meat butcher and get about $100 worth of meat, I buy whole rump steaks for about $9/kg or scotch fillet for about $12, then 20 chicken breasts at between 6 - 8/kg.

We figure if we are going to eat we are going to eat well so always make sure our food both fruit, veg and meat is good quality.

Shop around and you will find bulk beef for even cheaper than that.

Yeah I know you could get it cheaper but I find the guys really look after me and the prices are way cheaper then an ordinary butcher or one of the supermarkets, plus the meat quality is top notch which I don't mind paying for quality.

Plus for lamb I know someone who I can get full or half lambs off at top prices which is also a bonus.

There is nothing wrong with the quality at all. The last lot of beef i got is unbelievable. The steak is as good or better than the $80 wagyu steak i got from a restaurant a few months back. All for less than $6kg delivered to your door. Only downside is you need to order about 100kg at a time which I have no problem with.

Get you're meat from Tasman I pay 12 bux a kilo for t-bone and I get all my shit from Costco I would feel like a failure paying 224 for some sweety bearded hairy **** to cook my food. Invest in a large chest freezer and freeze single portions in seal bags!! Problem solved

I don't tend to cook meals and freeze them. Reheated chicken breast is fucken feral.

I love the slow cooker though. Use cheap cuts of beef and they come out tasting as good as the expensive cuts.

I like Warburton's at Aspley/Carseldine. Worth the drive, around $10 a kilo for steak that tastes better than premium stuff from elsewhere (IMHO).

• It has very low of fat and precious components:

type of meat fat (%) protein (%) kalcium (%) energy (kcal)

horse (average) ( 02,7 ) ( 20,6) ( 0,013 ) ( 117 )
beef (very lean) ( 07,2 ) ( 20,0) ( 0,009 ) ( 150 )
beef (average) ( 22,1 ) (17,2 ) ( 0,008 ) ( 273 )

Eat horse!!

My missus entered a competition a while back "in 25 word or less why do want to win a slow cooker" she answered just pure crap but won it. Best thing ever for cooking (in the winter time anyway) Corned Silverside is to die for in it.

Made beef stroganoff today in the slow
cooker and it was unbelievable.

Made a big chili a couple weeks back and worked out we made something like 8 decent servings of chili for a total of $20 or something like that.

the only way i'll do corned beef is in the slow cooker

Going off topic but I do pulled pork in the slow cooker, overnight marinade in a dry rub, then low and slow in the cooker for 8 hours in chicken stock, chilli, onion, brown sugar etc

Yep same here. Love pulled pork & coleslaw burgers

the only thing which beats a slow cooker is the ole crock pot or camp oven, cook something in these over 8 hrs and it is bloody fantastic, only thing is you have to keep an eye on it and stir it every now and then.

I've got a Dutch oven but I've always felt uncomfortable leaving it on the hotplate while no one is home or overnight.

A weber smokey mountain for ribs and pork butt would be the ultimate for low and slow cooking...

Now this bloke knows what the hell is up!!

Low n slow baby!
