Intra-workout Nutrition

Please, somebody change the title to be 'Intra Workout Nutrition'

I"m strongly considering some carbs & a wee bit of protein during training based on past experience & a lot of personal reading. What I'm unsure of, is the timing of the post workout meal.

If i were to have the inra workout meal from the 2200 Calorie Eating Plan what would be an optimal time frame between the intra workout meal & the post workout meal? half an hour? 45 minutes? Clearly because every body is different it's hard (nay impossible) to pin point an actual time (for example 37 minutes).

I have half my pre workout 'meal' just prior to training, the other half during and then the post workout shake straight after.

PowerBuilder,

I don't understand what you mean by the word "intra" here. I'm going to lay it out for you here so there's no confusion.

1. 10 minutes before starting your workout, you begin to sip on your pre/during workout drink That drink can be sipped on whilst training just like you're sipping on water. Additional water can be had of course during training.

2. After you're done; you immediately have your post workout drink. Immediately here means within 45 minute of that window of opportunity. Your muscles within this time frame are very sensitive to insulin...no, take that back. Within this time frame your muscles are EXTREMELY
sensitive to the effect of insulin; but rapidly change into becoming insulin resistant.
