How to find a good personal trainer , what are some of the things that you should expect from a personal trainer , how to make the most of your experience with a personal trainer. They are some of the questions people ask when they are thinking about getting a personal trainer to help with them with their workout.So lets talk a bit more about personal trainers. The first thing to remember is that a personal trainer woks for you , you don't work for them. You hire their services so they need to cater for your needs.

A good trainer should provide:

- Provide Guidance and support in helping you each your goals
- A balanced program that will keep you motivated
that will keep you coming back Educate you on the correct techniques for strength training, cardio and basic correct nutrition

- Show you ways to keep track your progress

- push you beyond your comfort limits



What to Look for In a Personal Trainer

Personal trainers are a dime a dozen, every 2nd person at the gym claims to be a personal trainer, there a few things to look for when choosing a Personal trainer
The first thing to look for is experience

Experience: Make sure your trainer has had experience in dealing with clients and their needs get some references from past clients any training and certificates that they might have

A trainer that listens: Find a trainer that will listen to your needs and understands what is that you want to achieve.

Attention: will watch your session and pick up on areas that you might be struggling in.

Tracking : A good trainer will keep track progress and change the training around to fit into your needs and abilities



So how do you find a good personal trainer? Where you should be looking? Here are some tips on how to find a personal trainer :

Word of mouth is the best way to find a good personal trainer. Ask your friends for reccomdations on a good personal trainer that will help you ready your goals

OR

The next time you are at the gym observe the personal trainers at work and watch how they interact with their clients see how involved they get. Once the session is up go up and ask the Personal trainer a few questions and see if they will take you on as a client



The relationship between you and your Personal Trainer is a two way street. You can help your Personal trainer do their job by being a better client. Some things to help with the session are;

Don't waste their time, save the chit-chat till the session is finished

Try to give at least 24hours notice if you are going to cancel or need to reschedule the session

Have your questions prepared before your session, this will save time so you can spend more time on your work out

Don't disturb your personal trainer when they are with a client .remember that client is a paying customer too , don't waste their time or money
 
Be weary of anyone trying to flog off protein powder. It is very common for Pts to suck in gullable young fellas and get them on protein shakes and having them looking bloated up and puffy. Independent gyms usually have better trainers. Avoid any hyperbole trainers from A.I.F.
