Anti inflam's

unless you really need them, then I wouldn't take them.

Seems to me if you need anti-inflams you might have an injury that probably needs to heal first. More use of the area normally increases inflamation.

I take em on arm day for my tendonitis (golfers elbow in both arms). usually only need 2 pills.
The question was will the pills negativily effect my gains.? maybe I shod just keep searching the net for the answer.

I was asking as a matter of interest.

I mean, this is the "Injury and Rehab" Thead isnt it? or are you gonna share that little pearler of wisdom with everyone who asks "Injury and Rehab" questions here?

Well you can be a ****wit about it or you can ask a professional who will have more insight about this than anyone else on this forum. After all it is stated in this section of the forum that it isn't professional advice...

OR you could just use some initiative, look at the ingredients and then look up if they have any effects like you are asking about.

I know it's not as easy as being a lazy **** just asking people to supply you with the answers to life, but it could be fun to try something different...

Come on lads, I think we've had a few too many protein shakes.

I believe the general consensus among sports therapists is it's not a good idea to take anti-inflammatories BEFORE exercise, as it can mask symptoms and make an injury worse. Better to let it heal first.

There might be ways that you can do your arms without aggravating your tendinitis, have you seen a physiotherapist?

Hey Poo, if you search the net and find an answer post it up here incase anyone else wants to know.

Thanks Guys
And I would like to apoligise to Mr Pieliftinghobo, I do research stuff but sometimes I just like to chat about stuff as well, However you dont need to call people swear word names its not nice. (might wonna lower the dosage..if ya know wot Im saying) just kidding.

Who gives a crap about gains if your stomach ulcerates and liver packs it in from anti-inflams?

As someone who suffers from tendonitis, I know that rest is all you can do or you will totally f**k yourself up and end up not being able to lift at all. How do you think that will affect your gains in the long term?

Rant complete.

Spoke to a physio today, so I will be going there once a week.
He said to take 2 in-flams every 4-6hrs every day to keep the inflamation down.
He also said to go lite with my bi's and do only exercises which do not irritate the tendons.
However Im going to endevour to not work my bi's directly and spend a few months doing nothing but compound exercises.

Now, what can I do about this weird ich and blue spots I have around my crouch.

Anti inflams can errode the lining of the stomach if taken on a regular basis. But then so can the carbolic acid in coke and it doesnt stop people drinking it.

I'm currently in the same situation of golfer's and tennis elbow on both arms (work related), the physio and the GP informed me that golfer's elbow (medial side of your elbow) takes longer to heal than tennis elbow. They say its a 3-6 month rehabilation but for 1 1/2 to 2 months, it's just physio treatment (massage, tenser, hot pack, stretching and wrist excercises with a 2kilo dumbbell and Mobic tablet once a day) Right now i'm on my 3rd month and i've started goin to the gym along with my physio for supervision. It's a slow process on gettin where my body was used to, i take it in small steps, rather than ruining my body in the end.

You have the answers to life? Where they on the back page like in my Electrotechnology text book?

Short answer is Yes, There mainly a short term treatment medicine for an issue that has long term effects. You cancelling out the short term effects of a this problem while working out will cause more damage than you can imagine. Ive dropped 5kg off my curls for now so it doesnt spark up my tendon issues again until I find a good sports injury doc.

Anti-inflammatory Painkillers

I would get to a sports injury specialist ASAP if the pain is at the level, that you need to take these. Just one consult and tell them what your taking and why, let them tell you what they think.
