What does creatine do?

I was going to ask this in the other creatine thread but thought it was best not to hijack someone else's thread.

What does creatine do? Does it allow you to train harder? or is it just that it heals your muscle tissue faster?

or is it something different and I am completely wrong?

Without going into the bio-chemistry of creatine

Our Bodies already create creatine. Basically the main function of creatine is to provide our muscles with more energy. More energy means that our muscles can contract harder making our body adapt better to the more stress that we put our bodies through

I read that intake of certain types of cretine can cause more muscle to be formed (inconjunction with resistance training) and also cause recovery time to increase.
