[Cycling] bike shorts and butt padding?

I have just gotten back into riding , to get into shape , but my ass is starting to hurts so just a quick question, do bike shorts come with padding in the butt area?

my seat isn't all that great not very comfortable and doesn't have much padding

I will be getting a new seat in the next few days , but thought a pair of bike shorts would go well with the new seat.

So do bike shorts come with butt padding? Is it worth it or will a nice new seat be enough??

Cheers

Bike pants come with a chamois which provides a bit of cushioning, also protects the valuables against chafing and saddle sores.

You'll still get a sore arse for a while. the only way to fix it is to ride some more

Don't skimp on your new seat. I think the saddle has far more impact on comfort than the thin little bit of soft padding (which'll compress as soon as you put your weight on it) in the shorts.

Also the correct riding posture, correct bike adjustments for your height etc. All can make a difference to your comfort during and after.
