Hello,
Im an ex-gymnast with a health problem that prevents me from doing alot of cardio. Im able to lift weights though. I can't use a treadmill but am willling to give a rowing machine and exercise bike a go.
Since quitting gymnastics and being unable to do a lot of cardio. I have gained around 30kg. Im aiming at the moment to just lose 5kgs. I have been told to aim small first. And I know this to be a good way to start. Hello I was a health nut before.
Im overweight and flabby now. I have a mesomoph shape with the ability to put on weight easily. I have a husband who can eat anything he wants. He has a medical condition and needs to put on weight so he of course stocks the cupboards with, marshmallows, chips, lollies, chocolate, potatoes, pastas etc. I find if I stay away from the lollies and just eat normally I even put on weight eating the potatoes and pastas.
I know I need to eat salads when he is eating the potatoes and pastas. But I find that the fresh vegs go off before I get through them. As he does NOT eat salads or many vegs.
What I want to know is. What is the best way to help loose weight and tone up without lots of cardio???
Also has anything changed since I have been to a gym. From what I knew ladies lift lightweights but do heaps of reps.
Can anyone give any tips?
For once Im not a young girl saying the following and really not having a problem. Im being deadly honest with you all with the following paragraph.
I have jelly thighs, wobbly thighs, cellulite everywhere, the same on my bum, I am beginning to get a stomach now. If I catch sight of myself in the changerooms in a store I think Im sharing the cubicle with a sumo wrestler.
My husband thinks Im fine, but I hate looking like this. I dont envy to be size 8 and twiggy. Just toned and nice. Even if that size is a 14 and toned.
Something has got to give. Im going to the gym today and I will continue as I knew how. High reps on light weights.
