Awesome result. Not sure how being blind would be a disadvantage in oly lifting. Or powerlifting for that matter. I usually close my eyes when setting up for squats or bench to get a better focus on placing my body and the bar in the right position. Not taking anything away from his effort. Just curious.
 
Dunno, as I open them when I do the lift. I guess it might initially but if you are totally blind I guess you would get used to it. I noticed that Malek is not totally blind, which is the case with some other blind lifters I know. At the comps I go to, main issue seems to be getting the grip on the bar in the right place and getting on and off the platform.
