Bulk Nutrients Email Received today

YOLO Kunce
I received an email from BN today. It reads:
"Dear Customer

We note that you purchased one of the following products in the last 3 months, or the ingredient in isolation:

Pramiracatem
Aniracetam
Oxiracatem
Noopept
Vinpocetine
DMAE Bitartrate
Cognitone

It has come to our attention that these ingredients may not be approved as a food or an additive to food in Australia, although products with these ingredients remain available from International vendors as well as Australian vendors.

Out of an abundance of caution we recommend that you do not consume products containing these ingredients.

We note that this advice is confined to the existence of the ingredient, as opposed to the integrity of the ingredient or the product itself (there was not an issue with our manufacturing process or quality of the actual ingredients).

In respect to any unused product we would be more than happy to credit you the value of the purchase. If you wish to take up that offer please contact us on products@bulknutrients.com.au.

We thank you for your continued business."

Has anyone else got this? I purchased Noopept and Pramiracatem and now they're saying its not suitable as a food? Has some recent study shown these nootropics to be dangerous to human health or something?

Vinpocetine is added to many Pre workout supps.

was added ,not as of tomorrow

see BN what happens when you stir up a shit storm, everyone loses out

might see some clear out sales this weekend and early next week
otherwise more than a few places are going to get hit with unsellable stock

All these products aren't available on BN's site anymore. I wish I got heads up early so I could've stash up!

It's an unfortunate case but such is the law and strict guidelines that need to be followed in Food Safety.

Just to clear something up quickly as we did yesterday for our customers on our Facebook page, and that is on the topic of not giving customers a heads up about this.

In this situation, there was no heads up. The knock on the door was yesterday and effective immediately. Apologies for mainly the regulars of the list of products that have now been taken down. If we could have given you a heads up, we certainly would have.

What we immediately did as a company:

* Got together as a team and organised a mass email to go out ASAP to all customers who purchased these ingredients in the past for at least 3 months back (as the main reason for this thread suggests).

* Organised for a clear announcement to go up on to our website as well as link that announcement directly on to our Facebook page and accept questions and answers on the topic and for people to have their say.

The announcement on our website: Where have some products gone?

This Facebook post to stay at the top of the page without interference from too many other posts pushing it down for at least a few days.

Will we ever see back these products?

It's extremely early to say yet as you will read in the link / our announcement on this, we are going to do all that we can and take all proper steps. It is likely that most will be back but a class of ingredients we will not be pursuing is the Recetam family of Nootropics. This is not because it is "too much work" it is simply on a whole other scale of getting approved where we are talking years and money beyond us. This is not something that will ever likely happen. Think more along the lines of a Pharmaceutical company to make this happen.

Any other questions regarding this, we can be found here, on our Facebook page or in email at technical@bulknutrients.com.au answering your questions to the best of our ability - unfortunately however, this is the long and short side of the story and there isn't much more to be said from here as this decision is out of our control.
The only control we have from here is stepping in the process for TGA registration which we will do to try and get some of the products back.

Thank you, AusBB!

Yes, it is frustrating, especially as there appears to be some inconsistencies to what we can make, and what can be imported (when the rules are the same), however as providers of products in Australia, there are regulations we have to adhere too.

One thing to be very clear about, there is absolutely nothing wrong with our versions of these products, it is simply that FSANZ have advised us that these ingredients can't be sold in Australia as foods.

You won't be seeing Red Bull's etc, being taken off the shelves. Caffeine is approved for beverages.

quite frustating with laws , in the agriculture field they need to scan for 130+ different chemicals , but imports only need to be scanned for a fraction of chemicals

a law for one and a law for another

Weird, can it be sold as something else??

Like label it for 'novelty purposes only', or put a warning on it saying something like, 'this product is not to be consumed' or similar.

Great idea, why can't we do that? List it under bath salts, room deodoriser, the options are endless. With a disclaimer saying "not for human consumption". :D

We won't be sneaky about anything.
We'll do it all by law.
We'll pursue TGA Registration as mentioned.
Might take a few months though.

Will you only have your non stimulant pwo available for now ?

And does any of this affect your release of your gainer products you are releasing ?

damn, all week i've been thinking about ordering the pre workout 101, now i see this.
what was the difference between it and the normal pre workout apart from the caffeine ?
