Couple of highlights from the past few days:

Jess was repping 60kg on bench for 8's & squatting 92.5 for 8's very easily.
Chyna was repping 40kg on bench for 8's also.
Both girls are gunning for Australian Records in April and August.

Lisa pulled 99kg on the trap bar after doing some testing on various exercises.
She is one of our resident professional athletes. Lisa has represented Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Squash and has started her return from injury in great fashion.

Scotty was pulling 290kg from below the knee for a few singles.
He's planning on doing the PA raw nationals in March and boosting up and reclaiming his Australian masters records.

Ryan continuing his rep pb's on squats and pretty much everything else.
On track for a great first comp in April.

One update I forgot, that was bloody awesome to boot:
Natasha one of our new powerlifting girls doing weighted chins with 3-4kg? for sets of 6-8 reps.
Her best for bodyweight reps is around 13 or 14 from memory.
Benches more than bodyweight and deadlifts over 2x bodyweight also.

Update from last couple of days:
James joined the gym on Monday. Weighs 80kg and has competed in powerlifting once before.
Squats 185, benches 100 and deadlifts 210. Great addition to the team!

Busy day at the gym all day/night on Monday, loads of people in.
Too many updates but main ones were:
Jess benched 65 for 6x6 comfortably.

Chyna squatted light and then benched 42.5 for 4x6.

Natasha benched 42.5 for 8x4 easily.

Benji & Ben came back from overseas and did a bit of everything.

Nathan did a bunch of sets and reps on 130 for bench.

I benched with Sean, he was doing a bench pyramid up to 135 and I was just working up to 130 for a good few sets. Lots of dumbell work afterwards.

Scotty came in for speed deadlifts and did alot of sets on 175 from memory.

Few morning updates:
Elton and Laura were in first thing this morning.
Elton was squatting 120 for 5's and benching 92.5 for 5's also. He weighs about 68kg. On track for more pb's in a couple of weeks.

Nathan deadlifted 180 for plenty of 5's + assistance.

Pete benched 6x6 on 85. Doing great since he joined the gym, all lifts are constantly moving up. On track for a great comp in April.

Lisa our pro squash player finished off her testing today with a 75kg squat to go with her 45kg bench, 40kg push press and 99kg trap bar dead. Also performed various plyometric tests with her.
Here is video of her last 2 trap bar deadlifts. Note: this was her first time using the trap bar.

Been a while since last update..
The gym was pumping on Friday night!
PB's and rep PB's being smashed all over the place.
Scotty was working with 255kg on Deadlifts, he did 2 sets of 5, a triple and a single.
On track to nudge up his old Australian record (300+).

Wayne, one of the youngin's and new members managed a 30kg pb on squats and deadlifts after just 5 weeks of training. Here is his 150kg Deadlift..

Another busy week at SSG!
More new members on board, and plenty of coaching sessions too (some with forum members).

A bunch of our competitive powerlifters are about 9 weeks out from their comp in April so their training has certainly started to step up a notch.

Scotty is a few weeks out from the Powerlifting Australia nationals so he's starting to hit some decent weights in training. He's also garnered some attention from some Brissy newspapers as he is also the coach of the Australia Paralympic powerlifting team. A real asset to SSG.

Here are his deadlift triples from Friday during photoshoot.

Mark Barham was in on Friday for deadlifts and accessory work.
For those unaware, Mark is ranked 3rd in Australia in powerlifting based on wilks, has a legit all time record of 697.5kg @83kg and has the squat, dead and total records for his class.
Mark's enjoying his time off from powerlifting and is mixing his training up alot.
He still managed to whip out a 280kg deadlift.

Jess blasted through 5's on bench at 67.5kg and recorded her first ever bodyweight chins - 2 to be exact.

Chyna benched 45 for more sets of 5 again and had a pb on chins with 5 reps, followed by about 15 more over a few sets.

Sean hit his bench pyramid up to 135 with added reps, making it all look pretty light.

Nate & Marty benched togethor and Nate did alot of work with 140 and then up to 180. Marty worked on 130 and then added the slingshot for some work on 140.
