no mini is slightly cheaper - starts at $369

It certainly does if google can get enough apps to support the native resolution.
Other problem is that storage will be eaten rather fast with hd movies, as non hd will look crap on a screen like that.

getting a bit old

I'm probably going to get a surface pro.
(works getting ipad minis for testing)

For me
one note with pen input, being able to run cad and compilers are the killer apps. Along with sketching/drawing apps that are the same as on mac/pc.

My fujitsu st5011 is getting a bit long in the tooth.
Better with win8 than 7 but to slow. slate tablet from 2004.
 
Certainly loving the look of the windows 8 tabs.. especially the surface..

I upgraded to win8 on my laptop at home... it's smooth.. I like it.

upgraded my main home desktop, running slightly better.
works nicely with a wacom pen and touch
 
Fuark, Thats huge Res...

Expensive though (for a google tab).

i'll have to be happy with my Nexus 7. No SD slot does suck though. but everything else is nice.

Gay pad mini seems cheap... whats up with that...
 
both Google and Apple are trying to cut sales of Microsofts surface tablets by undercutting them.

The arm based Surface tablets are out that run windows RT.
Surface pro using a x86 processor running windows 8 are out later this month

Surface tablets have touch and pen input


Apples winning the education and medical tablet markets by a long way
and is a long way ahead in home sales.
