Bands and Power Racks

kaz

I have all the fittings on my cage and the bands, so what is the benefits of working with bands when lifting?
Have been meaning to looking into it.......thought I'd ask the pros
How does it help a PL?

Best Lifts: S90kgs, B50kgs, D112.5kgs :)

it helps an equipped PL

it allows you to train against accomodating resistance (e.g. the weight at the bottom of the movement is less than at the top) which mimics the assistance that you get out of squat/dead suits and bench shirts.

There is some carry over to sports / raw PL but apparently not as much as you would think.

I like them for mixing things up. at the moment I bench twice a week. once raw and once either against or with bands.
It help to keep thing interesting, and I like the reverse bands because its gets me used to seeing 120+ on the bar.
Im not as big a fan for squats. I like chains for squats.
