I was talking to a friend about this and we were both unsure as too what kind of exercises etc

Also things like exercise, fitness and stretching

If anyone can enlighten me as too what would work well here I would really appreciate it

an easy way to think about sport specific training is to break down the sport into it's primary movements.

from what little i've played of softball, i guess the following would be useful:

batting:
- strength / power movement - swinging the bat
- sprinting (base to base)

Fielding
- power / strength for throwing
- sprinting / running for getting to the ball and to bases

pitching
- not sure :S

- this seems ok
