How often should you rest?

Hey just wondering how long someone should rest when it comes to lifting weights for a long period of time (3-4 months). When i say rest i mean 1-2 week rest, or shouldnt you rest at all?

Let me know if you guys think having a rest will help with your progression in trying to gain muscle. Ty

Personally, I take a full 2 weeks off training (not diet) every 3-4 months regardless how I'm feeling or performing, It's good to recharge the batteries, rest the body and reignite the fire.

I've been off the gym now for 14 days coincidentally, back into it on Tuesday, my joints/muscles feel great (No DOMS whatsoever = win) and I can't wait to get back to the gym and tear the place apart :)

It depends on how you train plus all other stressors added in. Most people don't train near hard enough but those who do normally know they need a break or a light week or two.

Yeah i find sometimes i am tired and unable to train harder then i would like. A week off might not help short term, but helps long term. I think anyway :p
