Cop's car seized under hoon driving laws

A Victoria Police detective has had his car impounded for 30 days under hoon driving laws.

The 42-year-old detective senior constable was pulled over in Mornington last Saturday night.

He has been interviewed over failing to properly control his car and driving an unregistered vehicle.

A police spokeswoman says he is likely to be charged on summons.

The ethical standards department is looking at the officer's conduct.
