Australian cycling star Carly Hibberd dies in Italy crash

ONE of Australia's most promising young cyclists has been killed after being hit by a car while training in Italy. Carly Hibberd, 26, was riding on a road between Appiano Gentile and Lurato Caccivio, north of Milan, when she was struck last night, Italian police confirmed.
She was with Colombian rider Diego Tamayo, who escaped unhurt. Emergency services were helicoptered into the area, but Hibberd died at the scene, according to reports.
